Alabama, West Virginia cadets competing in Team America Rocketry Challenge

MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. – Civil Air Patrol cadets from the Alabama and West Virginia wings make up two of the 100 teams that will compete this weekend in the Team America Rocketry Challenge in The Plains, Va.

The Department of Defense plans to notify civilian workers at Maxwell Air Force Base next month that furloughs caused by federal budget cuts will begin in June. “Furlough letters will go out in May, for implementation in mid-June,” DOD spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Nate Christensen said Monday.
